Unleash No-ode Creativity: Create Solutions with AppSheet in Google Workspace, Powered by Gemini!
Google for Education no-Code virtual hackathon will help universities students come together to solve certain student experiences using AppSheet and Google Workspace apps
This is a no-Code hackathon designed specifically for education users with no skills in coding or developing to create applications relevant to their specific interest.
During the hackathon, participants learn and build a prototype on the theme of the competition.
Participants leave this workshop with the techniques and strategies to bring their ideas to life and ready to pilot apps that would help automate some of their workflows.

Powered by Gemini!
21 October 2025
Hosting a no-Code Hackathon to showcase the ease of use with AppSheet.
Looking into the theme and how the application can look to solve the issue at hand. Explore how Appsheet can help you innovate in the process.
Collaborate with your team members to build prototypes and develop your final application for submission.
Develop a pitch deck to show the great idea that your educational institute can use while showcasing your prototype.
Open to all students currently enrolled in Malaysian Public Universities (IPTA), Polytechnics, and Community Colleges.
Each team must consist of students who are actively enrolled and still registered at the same institution on the date of the final presentation.
Each team must have a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of three (3) students, along with one accompanying officer (Lecturer/Institutional Staff).
The accompanying officer serves as an advisor and mentor but is not allowed to directly assist in the application's development or the final presentation.
Any registration that does not meet the team formation requirements will be automatically disqualified.
A student can only represent one (1) team to ensure all students have an equal opportunity to participate.
Number of members: Maximum 3 students, not including one lecturer.
Limited to 30 groups only.
Finalists: Top 10

Finalists: Top 15
Participants are required to develop an application using the AppSheet platform, integrated with the Google Workspace for Education Plus that has been provided to students.
The application must leverage Gemini Apps technology to solve a problem or provide an innovative solution for their respective institutions. We encourage the use of real-world "use-cases" or challenges faced by students or the institution as the solution for the AppSheet application built with Gemini.
Each team must submit a proposal for the first screening. Finalists will be announced after this proposal is evaluated. The proposal template, which will be shared with registered teams, must include the following:
An introduction to the problem to be solved.
A brief description of the application's idea and functions.
The expected impact and benefits of the application.
The application design and workflow.
Information on the team members and the accompanying officer.
Ideas & Innovation
The extent to which the proposed idea and solution are unique, new, and provide added value to users.
Creativity
The students' creativity in using the features of AppSheet and Gemini to produce an appealing design, user interface, and user experience.
Functionality & Usability
The quality and effectiveness of the application in solving real problems, as well as how easy it is to use and how practical it is.

Teams that successfully advance to the final round will be notified via an official email from the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) sent to the finalist teams, also on the Hackathon website, and through the Person in Charge (PIC) at their respective institutions.
All finalist teams must deliver their final presentations in person on the designated date. Details on the location will be announced later by KPT/Awantec.
Each team will be allocated 10 minutes for their final presentation.
Following the presentation, a 2-minute Q&A session with the panel of judges will be held.
Winners for both Category A and Category B will be announced on the same day as the final presentations.
Please provide the following details for your project group. Remember, the group should consist of a maximum of three (3) students, in addition to the lecturer.
(Create a group name, lecturer details, student leader details, two names of members)
Each name nominated here should include a full name, email address faculty and contact number.
All registration for Universities Category must be submitted through your institution's designated Google Ambassador. The Ambassador is responsible for nominating eligible students and completing the official participation form that was distributed with the notification letter.
For Polytechnics & Community Colleges (PolyCC). Registration must be through the link provided in the official letter from the Department of Polytechnics and Community Colleges (JPPKK).
Keep an eye on your inbox, including your spam or junk folders, just in case. Once it arrives, you'll know your group is officially registered.
Once your group is officially registered, get ready for the next exciting step. An invitation email for an online kick-off session will soon land in your inbox. This session is your official introduction to the program, where you'll get essential information.
